2. Summary
This website collects as little personal data as possible:
No cookies and no data stored on your device.
No advertising, tracking or social media plugins.
Visitor statistics are anonymous and cookie-free.
Personal data is processed only when you contact me.
3. Hosting
This website is built and hosted with Framer, provided by Framer B.V., Rozengracht 207B, 1016 LZ Amsterdam, Netherlands. Visitors in Europe are served from data centres in the EU.
When you open a page, your browser connects to Framer’s servers. This technically transmits your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, and information about your browser and operating system. This data is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure.
Each page also loads a small Framer component that checks whether a site editor is signed in, so that editing tools can be shown to them. For visitors it stores nothing on the device.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — my legitimate interest in a secure and reliable website. Framer processes the data on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Framer uses sub-processors, some of them in the United States, such as Amazon Web Services. Transfers to the US are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where the provider is certified, the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
4. Visitor statistics
I use Framer’s built-in analytics to see how the website is used — for example which pages are viewed, where visitors come from, and the type of device and country. Framer Analytics uses no cookies and no persistent identifiers; the data is anonymous and cannot be linked to you. A successful contact form submission is counted as an anonymous event.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — my legitimate interest in understanding and improving the website.
5. Contact form and email
When you use the contact form, I receive your name, your email address and your message. When you email me directly, I receive your email address and whatever your message contains. I use this data only to answer your inquiry.
The form is processed by Framer and delivered to me by email through an email delivery service (Amazon Simple Email Service, USA). My mailbox is hosted by Proton AG, Switzerland — a country the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of data protection.
To filter spam, Framer has your browser solve a small computational task in the background. No third-party captcha service is used.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your inquiry relates to a contract or to steps before entering into one; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — my legitimate interest in answering inquiries.
Retention: I delete inquiries once they have been dealt with and are no longer needed — at the latest after 12 months. If an inquiry leads to a business relationship, I keep the correspondence for as long as the relationship lasts and afterwards for the periods required by German tax and commercial law.
6. Booking a call and video calls
This website links to my booking page at Calendly (Calendly LLC, USA). Calendly content is not embedded on this website, so no data goes to Calendly until you click the link. When you book a call, Calendly processes the details you enter — such as your name, email address and the chosen time — on my behalf. Calendly LLC is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Calls take place via Google Meet or Zoom, depending on what suits you, or occasionally via another service we agree on. The provider processes the connection data and the audio and video of the call. Google and Zoom are US companies certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Retention as described in section 5.
7. Links to other websites
This website links to other websites, such as my LinkedIn profile. These are plain links: no data is sent to these services until you click them. After that, their own privacy policies apply.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
access the personal data I hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR);
have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR);
have your data deleted (Art. 17 GDPR);
have processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR);
receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR);
object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR).
To exercise these rights, contact me by email or through the contact form on the Impressum page.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.
9. Other information
You are not required to provide personal data; without it, however, I cannot answer your inquiry. I do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
I may update this policy when the website or the law changes. The current version is always available on this page.
